Aimee Gill
Former Los Gatos resident Aimee R. Gill died at her home in Grass Valley, Calif., on Nov. 4. She was 81.
Born on Feb. 3, 1922, in Pittsburgh, Pa., Gill was a resident of Los Gatos for 30 years and taught at the Chandler Tripp School in San Jose for 32 years. She enjoyed continued education, gardening, reading, pets and crafts, and art.
She is survived by daughters Pamela Gill of Fairplay, Colo., Katherine Fretwell of Auburn, Calif., and Jennifer Lang of Springfield, Ore., and six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the AIDS Foundation of Grass Valley.
Betty Johnson
Betty L. Duncan Johnson died Oct. 20. She was 81.
Born Feb. 20, 1922, in Hiawatha, Kan., Johnson was raised in Kansas and graduated from Kansas State University.
After graduation, Johnson had several jobs before beginning a career with the Kansas City Police Department, where she worked until marrying Paul Johnson on Dec. 27, 1949. The couple soon moved to California, where Johnson worked for the San Francisco Police Department. The pair then moved to Los Gatos, where Johnson worked as a school secretary. The couple resided in Los Gatos until Paul's death in 2000. Johnson moved back to Kansas, where she resided until her death.
