The valet service will run from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays between Nov. 28 and Dec. 24, plus the Sunday and Monday before Christmas. The service will only be provided at Lot 4, which is bounded by Grays Lane and Elm Street and between Santa Cruz and University avenues.

The upper level will be reserved for drivers who don't intend to stay for more than four hours. The lower level will be for longer-term parking.

Last year, town parking coordinator Carol Musser reported that valet parking created 5,000 additional spaces for cars during the 2001 holiday shopping season.

In addition to Lot 4, shoppers can find free street parking and, in some cases, unlimited free parking. The untimed parking areas include a lot on Miles Avenue and lots on Santa Cruz Avenue just north of Highway 9 and south of the main post office.

There are no time limits on Sundays.
