The Quito Little League will hold sign-ups for the 2004 season on Dec. 2 and 4, 6:30­9 p.m., at Rolling Hills Middle School. Players ages 5­12 are eligible. The Strikkers will hold girls fastpitch softball tryouts at Oak Grove High School, 285 Blossom Hill Road in San Jose—12 and under, Dec. 7 and 14; 14 and under, Dec. 6; 16 and under, Dec. 7; and 18 and under, Dec. 6 and 7.

5-on-5 soccer

A five-a-side youth soccer league will play a four-week season Nov. 29 through Dec. 20 at Del Mar High School and the old Blackford High School. Games will be played on Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings.

The 5-on-5 games feature smaller fields with bigger goals than normal soccer fields. The registration fee is $250 for teams up to seven players, or $50 per player for individuals.

Youth basketball

Registration is now being accepted for the Calvary Church Youth Basketball League for boys ages 10­16 and girls ages 6­14. League play runs Jan. 3 through March 6, and the registration fee is $95 per player.
