Mountain Art Guild will host eighth annual two-day art show
By My Ngo
The eighth annual art show hosted by the Mountain Art Guild will be held on June 12 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on June 13 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in collaboration with the Santa Cruz Mountains Vintners Festival.

The two-day affair will feature a wide array of artwork in various mediums, including jewelry, watercolor paintings, birdhouses, baby quilts, handmade books and textiles by more than 50 Bay Area artists. There will also be food provided by Nonno's Catering and BBQ and fine wine served by local wineries such as Bargetto, Roudin-Smith and Zayante.

Local band Hip Pocket will also be present to jazz up the event, along with folk and rock group The Acoustic Asylum and guitarists Patty and Abigail on the first day. Cellist Anne Powell and pianist Angela Macchia will be part of the second day's lineup, as well as the Bellavente Wind Quintet and Jolize.

According to the guild's co-president, Alan Seales, the event has grown in attendance and in the number of vendors since previous years.

"The quality of the artwork is also improving," Seales adds. "It's a great opportunity for artists to showcase their work and to make some money. It's also a way for the public to support the visual arts programs in the community."

The art show will be held at Radonich Ranch, located at 25140 Highland Way. Admission is free. For more information, call 408.353.1325 or visit www.mountainartguild.org.
