Touch My heART will celebrate art, and also benefit town's history
By Jennifer McBride
To the town of Los Gatos, heritage is heart--so what better day to celebrate and benefit the art, culture and history of Los Gatos than Valentine's Day?

Last year was the inaugural "Touch My heART" event--a unique, art-themed fundraiser attended by more than 300 people, benefiting the museums of Los Gatos. According to many who were involved or attended, the fun event was a big success for its cause.

"[The] event was punctuated by wonderful art, delicious food and delightful camaraderie," says Marilyn Dorsa, a local artist, philanthropist and businesswoman. "Los Gatos is such a special town, and events like 'Touch My heART' just add to its magnetism."

The next "Touch My heART" will take place on Feb. 13 at Testarossa Vineyards, from 5 to 9 p.m. The theme will be "That's Amore!" and fine wine and food--included in the ticket price--will be of the Italian variety. An auction of original artworks by award-winning artists will be held, with all proceeds benefiting the Museums of Los Gatos, and live entertainment is also on the bill. The famous balcony scene from "Romeo and Juliet" will be performed, Italian arias by local opera companies will be sung, and local singer Jimmy Cremona will do classic numbers by Frank Sinatra.

Rumor also has it that one lucky attendee will win a cruise for two to the coast of Italy.

Tickets are $50--$45 if purchased by the end of December. For more information or to purchase, call the Museums of Los Gatos at 408.395.7375. Only a limited number of tickets will be sold.
