Happy holiday wish from the Weekly-Times staff
'Tis four days before Christmas, or something like that,
and the staff is quite busy, there's no time to chat.
There are stories to write, there are photos to shoot,
so we can get home to collect all our loot.
But no presents for us until we are through,
getting this paper all finished for you.
It's our job, and we know it, so we give you our best,
but even ol' editors need occasional rest.
With the year nearly over, it's time to reflect,
on those stories from last year we couldn't neglect.
The council approved the Sobrato expansion,
when Netflix signed on to move into the mansion.
And speaking of mansions, the Aerts place
went dark,
all but for a Grinch they displayed as a lark.
There was plein art, the concerts, an Opera
House feat,
and a Touch My heART auction to make
things complete.
A sports hall of fame honored athletes past,
and plans for a skatepark got rolling at last.
The community pool made a pretty big splash,
when it opened last summer with big gala bash.
Mayor Wasserman moved in as the main man
on Main,
and planning's new guy is able--named Kane.
In Monte Sereno they found Mr. Wright,
but the limits on fences remain the same height.
On Danser, on Bishop, on your way to conviction,
a post office scare led to workers' eviction.
Cat's Hill got a facelift for the bikers who bike it,
a Roberts Road Bridge vote, though some didn't like it.
There was too much to cover in the lines we
have here,
so instead we just offer our holiday cheer.
From Grant and Kaustuv, they both cover
the news,
and cartoonist DeCinzo, he shares his own views.
There's Lisa on schools, and George takes the pics,
and Jennifer's features give us a good mix.
From Mary Ann, Tony, Andrea, and Sue,
Jeannie, Noemi, Nancy, Claire, too.
From Tiffani, Brendon, Lisa and Nate,
Jeannette, Dale and David, now the hour is late.
So I join with them here in this greeting to you,
to say thanks to our readers, and something
else, too.
To our readers out there, from our staff back in here,
Merry Christmas to all, and a Happy New Year.
