Sharon Wood, the first woman from North America to reach the summit of Mt. Everest, is the keynote speaker for the 31st annual YMCA of Santa Clara Valley Community Prayer Breakfast Nov. 4.  More With Halloween now a $3.29 billion industry, it's not surprising that retailers along The Alameda and West San Carlos Street are hoping to get a bit of the trick or treat business.  More It would seem that rising energy and gasoline costs are conspiring to make this a darker Halloween with fewer homes going all out to light up All Hallows Eve.  More
