Lincoln gala
features music
to aid orchestra
The Lincoln High School Orchestra will benefit from "The Magic of Music" evening set for Jan. 27 in the City Hall Rotunda, 200 E. Santa Clara St.
The event, with doors opening at 4:30 p.m., will feature Lincoln's Intermezzo Orchestra, Advanced Orchestra and the Chamber Strings groups performing musical favorites, including Disney selections.
Pasta Pomodoro is catering dinner and dessert, and Steven Kent Winery is serving a complimentary glass of wine to attendees.

Sister cities
to be explored
in kids workshop
Children ages 5 to 10 can explore the history and culture of the seven sister cities of San Jose at a Friends of Guadalupe River Park & Gardens workshop on Jan. 25 from 3:30 to 5 p.m.
Participants will hear music, make crafts and sample breads from Costa Rica, Indian, Ireland, Japan, Mexico, Russia and Taiwan.
Pre-registration is necessary for the class, which has a $15 fee and takes place at the Visitor and Education Center, 438 Coleman Ave., San Jose. To register, call 408.298.7657.
