    Youth Baseball

    Little League baseball players will return to the diamond this spring. For more information on area leagues:

    * The Saratoga Little League is open to players ages 5-12 (5 before July 31, 2001, or 12 before July 31, 2001). For more information, call 408.236.2678.

    * The Quito Little League is open to players ages 5-12. Call 408.943.4707.

    Softball Signups

    The West Valley PAL Softball League will hold signups for the 2001 season on Jan. 6 and 13, 9 a.m.-2 p.m., and Jan. 10, 6:30-9 p.m., at Bagby Elementary School.

    The recreational fast-pitch softball league is open to girls ages 5-16, and new players must provide a birth certificate at the registration. The fee ranges from $40-55, depending on age.

    Moreland Signups

    The Moreland Little League will hold signups for players up to age 16 on Jan. 6 and 13, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., and Jan. 10, 6-9 p.m., at Round Table Pizza, Moorpark and Saratoga Avenue. Call 408.247.9528.

    High School Rugby

    The Silicon Valley Rugby Football Club is looking for high school players (ages 14-18) from Sunnyvale, Cupertino, Saratoga, Mountain View and Santa Clara for the spring season.     Volleyball signups

    The United States Youth Volleyball League is now accepting registration for its spring program in Los Gatos and San Jose.

    The coed league is open to players ages 8-14 and the fee of $90 per player includes instruction, games, uniform T-shirt and equipment. League play runs March 31-June 16.

    Teams will meet twice a week: on Tuesdays from 5:30-6:30 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9-10 a.m. at Camden Park West, and on Wednesdays from 5:30-6:30 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9-10 a.m. at Los Gatos High School.
