Saratoga wins battle of Cats and 'Dogs

Bulldogs are said to be tenacious, courageous animals.
So it seems rather appropriate that a group of Saratoga girls chose the name as the mascot for their soccer team. Because they certainly displayed those qualities in the 1999 season.
The Saratoga Bulldogs, a girls under-14 soccer team in the Saratoga AYSO program, capped a super '99 season with a championship in the regional tournament.
The Bulldogs played six games in two days to win the title, clinching the crown by battling the Monterey Fat Cats to a 1-1 draw in the final game of the tourney.
The Bulldogs won the tournament crown, with Monterey ended up second and the Saratoga Rockets finishing an impressive third.
