    Youth Baseball

    Little League baseball players will return to the diamond this spring. For more information on area leagues:

    The Saratoga Little League is open to players ages 5-12 (5 before July 31, 2001, or 12 before July 31, 2001). For more information, call 408.236.2678.

    The Quito Little League is open to players ages 5-12. For more information, call 408.943.4707.

    The Moreland Little League will hold signups for players up to age 16 on Jan. 10, 6-9 p.m., and Jan. 13, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., at Round Table Pizza, Moorpark and Saratoga Avenue. Call 408.247.9528.

    Hot Stove Banquet

    Pat Burrell of the Philadelphia Phillies and Rick Helling of the Texas Rangers will be the featured guests when the 17th annual Hot Stove Banquet returns to the Santa Clara Valley on Feb. 6.

    John Shrader of KNBR-68 will serve as master of ceremonies for the Santa Clara County Baseball Fundraisers event that will begin with no-host cocktails at 6 p.m., dinner at 7 p.m. and the banquet to follow at the San Jose Elks Club.

    Bob Arum, chairman of the board for Top Rank Inc., will be the evening's special guest.

    Tickets are $35 per person and $350 for a table of 10 ($300 per table of 10 for youth, high school, community college and college baseball groups). For reservations, call 408.446.3443.

    De Anza Force

    The De Anza Force Soccer Club will hold tryouts in January for CYSA Class 1 and Class 3 teams. Teams will play the spring season, then continue into the fall of 2001.

    Age groups, as of the fall of 2001, are for boys and girls under-9, under-10, under-11 and under-12 teams.

    High School Rugby

    The Silicon Valley Rugby Football Club is looking for high school players (ages 14-18) from Sunnyvale, Cupertino, Saratoga, Mountain View and Santa Clara for the spring season.
