Rotary Art Show screenings begin

Screening of artwork for the 41st annual Saratoga Rotary Art Show takes place Jan. 30 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the campus of West Valley College, 14000 Fruitvale Ave in Saratoga. Art forms can include paintings, sculpture, jewelry, ceramics, photography, fiber arts and crafts. The judges are Lissa Jones, a corporate art consultant; Charles Escott, a designer of and expert in handmade paper and jewelry; and Carol Hutchinson, a professional artist whose specialty is oil painting.

The Saratoga Rotary Art Show is always held the first Sunday of May; this year it falls on May 2. Proceeds benefit the Rotary Trust Fund, which supports many community organizations and groups, including Saratoga High School, the Montalvo Center for the Arts, the Saratoga Senior Center and the Olympiad of the Arts. For more information about the screening process, call art show artist coordinator Mary Fleischli at 725-2434.
