Saratoga News Sports Briefs Saratoga Little League Signups The Saratoga Little League is preparing for the 1999 season. Players ages 5-12 are eligible and must provide a birth certificate for proof of age, and must provide for proof of residency (a PG&E, water or phone bill) when they register. The league is open to boys and girls ages 5-12 (as of July 31, 1999). Players must provide a birth certificate for proof of age, and parents must provide a PG&E bill and driver's license for proof of residency at registration. Pony-Colt Signups The Saratoga Pony-Colt baseball league is holding signups for players ages 13-16. Pony League is open to players ages 13-14, and Colt League is for players ages 15-16. Softball Signups The Los Gatos-Saratoga Girls Softball Association is holding signups. The registration fee is $100 per player, and youngsters must provide proof of age. Pitching Program West Valley Community College pitching coach Burch Boehner will present a winter pitching program Wednesday evenings, Jan. 27-March 10, in the West Valley gym in Saratoga. Players ages 9-10 attend at 7 p.m. and players ages 11-12 attend at 8 p.m. Preseason arm conditioning, pitching fundamentals, arm care and defensive skills will be covered in the program. For more information, call Boehner at 998-5338. All-Comers Meets Los Gatos will host a series of all-comers track and field meets on Saturdays, 12:30 p.m., through Feb. 27. Athletes will compete in open, masters men, women's, boys and girls divisions. The cost is $3 for athletes and $2 for spectators. Proceeds go toward track resurfacing at the high school.
