Saratoga NewsWest Valley Republican women elect new officersThe West Valley Republican Women, Federated, has installed a new slate of officers to serve for the 1998 year. The new president is Marge Gamble of Cupertino. Other officers are Kay Young of Saratoga, first vice president; Eleanor Patten of Saratoga, second vice president; Kay Eshleman of Monte Sereno, third vice president; Liz Simms of San Jose, recording secretary; Ruth Ellen McCloskey of Saratoga, corresponding secretary; Pat Dopyera of San Jose, treasurer; Karin Dowdy of Saratoga, director at large and publicity chair; and Nan Maier of Monte Sereno, parliamentarian and immediate past president. WVRWF, which does community service as well as political activities, invites interested members of the public to attend the group's January meeting, to be held Jan. 15 at 11:30 a.m. at Mandarin Chef, located at 14572 Big Basin Way, Saratoga. Keynote speaker is Beth Rogers of the Seneca Network, which is a donor network for financial support of qualified Republican woman candidates from California. Cost for lunch is $11.
