SHS seniors nominated for Wendy's award
Saratoga High School has nominated Amanda Wise and Kenneth Rhow, two seniors, for the 2000 Wendy's High School Heisman Award program, a program that rewards "scholar-citizen-athletes." The students were selected based on their academic accomplishments, athletic prowess and commitment to community service.
The country's more than 23,000 high schools were invited to nominate one male and one female student for the award competition. Students who achieve state winner status will earn $500 for their schools and national finalists will earn $1,000 for their schools with the two national winners earning $2,500 each for their schools.
