COMMUNITY BRIEFS

United Way honors 'A Thousand Stars'

United Way of Santa Clara County's victory and awards celebration, "A Night of a Thousand Stars," will be held Jan. 18 at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center. Michael E. Fox Sr., United Way's 1995 campaign chair, has invited everyone to help celebrate the finale of the 1995 fundraising campaign. The Hollywood-themed event will recognize the campaign's "stars"--local companies, volunteers and agencies--for their efforts in raising millions of dollars to support community agencies throughout Santa Clara County.

Tickets are $30 per person, which includes food and entertainment. Guests are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite movie stars. For reservations, call United Way's special events hotline, 345-4390.
