Learn about Saratoga schools on the Net

Delaine Eastin, state superintendent of public instruction, has a Web site that allows Saratoga residents to access individual school profiles for all 8,000 schools in the state.

The Web site is part of the Education Data Partnership Web site established last year. The newly added profiles allow residents to find information about a school by entering the school's name or the name of the city, school district or ZIP code in which it's located.

The profile includes information such as a school's location, legislative representation, size and demographics, number of students by ethnic group and primary language and staffing information. The high school profiles also include information about college placement of graduates, dropout rates and Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) scores. And the profiles contain a link to the school's Internet home page, if there is one.
