Saratoga NewsRobbery Suspect Sheriff's office investigates armed robbery in SaratogaBy Michelle Alaimo The Santa Clara County Sheriff's Department continues to search for an armed bank robber who held up Citicorp Bank on 12948 S. Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road in Saratoga. The bank was robbed at 12:27 p.m. on Jan. 10 when a robber entered the bank, gave a female teller a robbery note demanding money and "simulated a handgun," Sgt. Steve Angus said. The suspect got away with an undisclosed amount of money. At the time of the robbery, Angus said, there were only two or three customers in the bank. He added that he did not think the customers knew the bank was being robbed at the time. Angus said the robbery suspect was described by witnesses as being a white male, approximately 25 years old, 6 feet tall and weighing 150 pounds. The suspect was also described as having blondish hair, and was wearing a hooded gray sweatshirt, baseball cap and sunglasses. The sheriff's office asks those with information on the suspect or this crime to contact Sgt. Angus at 299-2211.
