Sheriff's Report

Commercial Burglary--Jan. 10, 12:30 p.m., on Big Basin Way. An unknown suspect entered a restaurant and took approximately $831.80 in cash from the register. No signs of forced entry were reported, and all the doors were locked when employees opened the restaurant in the morning.

Forgery--Jan. 9, 7:30 p.m., on Mount Eden Road. A resident had opened a new checking account with a local bank and had not received her new checks. The victim then received a statement from the bank that contained her canceled, missing checks--which had been forged--totaling $1,857.27 in various amounts to local businesses.

Petty Theft--Jan. 8, 12:25 p.m., on Paseo Olivos Court. A resident parked her unlocked car in her driveway the previous night, leaving her purse in the passenger seat. The next morning, the purse was missing, and her glove compartment was open. Several compact discs were also missing. Deputies lifted three latent prints from car doors and submitted them for processing and evidence.

Grand Theft--Jan. 6, 1:30 p.m., on Vickery Avenue. The victim came home from vacation to find two sets of golf clubs, each valued at $1,500, missing from his garage. He believes he had left his garage door open.
