Auto burglary--Between 11 p.m., Jan. 7 and 7:30 a.m., Jan. 8. A burglar took a $75 cellular phone and a $275 compact-disc player from a 1993 Honda Accord parked on Ten Oak Way.
Petty theft--Between 12:20 and 2:15 p.m., Jan. 8. A Saratoga High School teacher's wallet was stolen from his office, possibly by one of the students in his class at the time. A janitor later found the billfold near the school office, but $22 in cash and the teacher's driver's license were missing.
Auto burglary--Between 4 and 4:30 p.m., Jan. 5. Someone broke into a 1993 GMC truck parked on Blossom Valley Drive and took a $200 cellular telephone.
Auto burglary--Between 9 p.m., Jan. 9 and 8 a.m., Jan. 10. Someone broke the left rear window of a 1988 Honda parked on Casa Blanca Lane. The vandal also broke away parts of the plastic console around the car's cassette deck, but stole nothing.
Illegal burning--Between 11:30 p.m., Jan. 8 and 5:30 a.m., Jan. 9. A firebug ignited newspapers, a cigarette box and other debris in an attempt to start fires in the science wing at Saratoga High School. Saratoga Fire District officials are investigating a series of similar incidents.
Commercial burglary--Sometime between Jan. 2 and Jan. 9. An unknown person entered the rear door of The Napkin Ring caterer on Oak Place and carried away a mixing machine.
