The Soirée Musicale will host a free evening of chamber music Feb. 2 at the Carriage House at Villa Montalvo.
Music for the evening will include violinist Mark Sokol and pianist John Chernoff performing the 3rd Sonata for Violin and Piano by Charles Ives; the Tellaro Quartet playing a string quartet by Tchaikovsky; and the trio of Paula Chernoff, flute, Joella Olsen, violin, and Alice Benedict, piano, performing music by Martinu.
The concert is open to the public. Families with children are welcome. Following the program, a reception for the artists will be held in the Villa Montalvo Art Gallery. Everyone is asked to bring finger foods, wine or juice or a donation for refreshments.
Donations to the Maurice B. Hinman Fund, which supports the free Soirée Musicale concerts, will be welcome, although not required.
Soirée Musicale presents free bimonthly concerts featuring Bay Area musicians. Two concerts are held in public facilities to accommodate a larger public audience. Four concerts are held in private homes. For more information, call 253-0285.
