The show features drawings, ceramics and other works by the college's most talented student artists. Among the three-dimensional pieces is a four-foot gumball machine. For information call 741-2192. Accordions to play at Villa Montalvo Twice Upon a Squeezebox, a contemporary accordion band, plays Feb. 4 at 7:30 p.m. at Villa Montalvo's Carriage House Theater. The band, whose members play in traditional, ethnic and modern styles, consists of accordionist Sandy Brechin of Scotland; concertina player Alistair Anderson of Northumbria, England; Niall Vallely, a member of the Irish band Nomos; and guitarist William Coulter. Dept. teams up with Petroglyph On Feb. 3 from 4-6 p.m.,the Saratoga Recreation Department, in conjunction with Petroglyph--a ceramics lounge in Los Gatos--offers 6- to 8-year-olds a short story and discussion group on how different events affect their lives. Each child will illustrate a special event on a salad plate to take home. Cost is $30 for residents, $35 for non-residents and includes instruction, a plate, colored glazes and kiln firing. Rotary Art Show screenings begin Screening of artwork for the 41st annual Saratoga Rotary Art Show is set for Jan. 30 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the campus of West Valley College, 14000 Fruitvale Ave. Art forms can include paintings, sculpture, jewelry, ceramics, photography, fiber arts and crafts. Judges are Lissa Jones, Charles Escott and Carol Hutchinson. The Saratoga Rotary Art Show takes place May 2. Proceeds benefit the Rotary Trust Fund, which supports many community organizations and groups, including Saratoga High School, the Montalvo Center for the Arts, the Saratoga Senior Center and the Olympiad of the Arts.
