Saratoga NewsSheriff's ReportAttempted Burglary--Jan. 19, 5 p.m., on Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road. A business found its front door had been pried open. Nothing was missing. Vandalism--Jan. 17, 4:30 p.m., on Bonnett Way. A resident reported that an unknown suspect broke his chain-link mailbox stand. The weld was broken, and the mailbox was on the ground. It is unknown how the stand was broken because there were no marks on the stand. Residential Burglary--Jan. 17, 1:15 p.m., on Montalvo Drive. An unknown suspect entered the victim's home through either the unlocked front door or the unlocked rear door in the family room. The suspect went upstairs to the master bathroom closet and took approximately $20,000 worth of jewelry from a jewelry box. Also taken was a silver tea set from the downstairs dining room. Petty Theft--Jan. 16, at 10:15 a.m., on McFarland Avenue. The victim noticed his cell phone was missing from his unlocked car parked in his driveway. He received a call from his phone company inquiring about numerous phone calls and was able to obtain two phone numbers the suspect had called. Vandalism--Jan. 15, at 10:20 a.m., on Potter Way. An unknown suspect broke three windows on the back door of a home and four on the front door while the resident was away. The suspect left large amounts of blood on the rear door and glass area. Vandalism--Jan. 12, at 5 p.m., on Via Real Street. In the morning, the resident discovered his garbage can knocked over in his driveway and garbage strewn throughout his driveway. His yard lamp was also rammed into and damaged beyond repair. Vandalism--Jan. 12, at 4:40 p.m., on Via Monte Drive. An unknown suspect intentionally drove a vehicle through a resident's driveway and along a median, destroying two small palm trees and a large plastic garbage can.
