Saratoga NewsSports BriefsBaseball spring training available Area youngsters are invited to participate in spring training. No, not with the Giants and A's in Arizona, but rather, in Willow Glen. Willow Glen varsity baseball coach Gary Rose will host a Little League Spring Training Day on Feb. 14 on the high school baseball field. The training day is open to youngsters ages 8-12, and it will be broken into two 3-hour sessions of drills and instruction, from 9 a.m.-noon and 1-4 p.m. Each session is limited to the first 100 players to sign up. The cost is a $10 donation to the high school baseball program, and players should sign up in the front office at the high school by Feb. 10. For more information, call Rose at 535-6330. Go 4 Gold Soccer School The Go 4 Gold Soccer School will be held Feb. 16-20, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. each day, at Homestead High School in Sunnyvale. The school will feature instruction by professional coaches and is open to boys and girls ages 5-18 from novice through select skill levels. For more information, call 997-7775. Los Gatos track coaches needed The Los Gatos track team is looking to hire assistant coaches to work with the jumpers and sprinters in the upcoming spring season. Annual Valentine Day Run returns The annual Valentine 10K run and 5K walk down the Los Gatos Creek trail returns to Campbell on Feb. 14. The race begins at 9 a.m. at the Water Tower Plaza in Campbell. The cost for the event is $15 for those who register by Feb. 6. For more information, call 866-2105. Pioneer holds rummage sale An all-school rummage sale to benefit athletics and other programs at Pioneer High School will be held on Jan. 31, 8 a.m.-3 p.m., in the cafeteria at the school, 1290 Blossom Hill Road in San Jose.
