Council changes adjourned site
City Council members want residents to know that they can no longer attend adjourned council meetings in the administration conference room at City Hall--because the location has been changed.
The council decided to move adjourned meetings, held on Tuesdays on the council's off weeks, to the Adult Day Care Center, 19655 Allendale Ave. The move was made in response to a suggestion made in December by Councilman Stan Bogosian, who wanted to make sure the meetings could accommodate as many people as want to attend.
City Manager Harry Peacock said the new room can seat about 100 people. The administration conference room could only accommodate about 10 spectators.
Free classes show how to compost
Composting is a way to recycle home waste and turn it into "garden gold," say the experts.
The West Valley cities of Campbell, Los Gatos, Monte Sereno and Saratoga are sponsoring a series of community composting workshops that are free of charge to residents.
Master composters from the University of California Cooperative Extension will conduct the classes, in which the basics of transforming garden trimmings and food waste into compost will be taught. A unit on worm composting also will be offered.
Classes will be held in Saratoga at the Community Center, 19655 Allendale Ave., on May 10 and Aug. 9.
Training classes for master composters will begin in August. For more information, contact Jennifer Britton at 868-1212.
