New Editor: Carlos Castillo
New editor takes the reins at Saratoga News
Carlos Castillo has been named editor of the Saratoga News. He replaces Dale Bryant who will take on full-time responsibility as managing editor of Silicon Valley Community Newspapers, a division of Metro Publishing Inc. He will also be responsible for editing the Los Gatos Weekly-Times and will work out of the Los Gatos office.
Castillo earned a degree in journalism from California State University at Fresno and did additional work in film at City College of San Francisco and San Francisco State University.
He covered education, crime, government and courts, and wrote features for the Lifestyle section of the Visalia Times-Delta.
In addition to freelance work for various publications, including the San Francisco Chronicle, he has been involved in film as a writer and a director. His short film, Hidden Parts, was seen on KQED.
"Hopefully, I can bring a fresh set of eyes and a newcomer's curiosity to the job so capably handled by Dale. I'm expecting quite a ride."
