Montalvo Service Group elects new officers, chairs
At its general meeting on Jan. 15, at the Toll House in Los Gatos, the Montalvo Service Group announced its new officers and committee chairpeople for 2001.
Assuming their positions as officers are Mary Ann Leach of Saratoga, president; Becky Trigeiro of Los Gatos, first vice president; Janet Olsen of La Selva Beach, second vice president; Doris Martinez of San Jose, third vice president; Linda Cole of San Jose, corresponding secretary; Corrine Rathjens of Saratoga, recording secretary; and Sybil Lewis of Mountain View, treasurer.
Joining them are a handful of women serving on various Montalvo committees. Lois DeBrock is the artist in residency representative; Kay Twardus will schedule docents for the Gallery at Montalvo; and Marilyn Grafft returns as chair of the Outreach Program. All are Saratogans.
In connection with Montalvo's various yearly fundraisers, Maxine Schneider of San Jose will coordinate brunches, Saratogans Anne Monroe and Arline Rowen will coordinate the summer lunches; while Saratogans Ursula Millett and Lil Nelson will plan the largest fundraiser, Yuletide at Montalvo.
Guiding new MSG provisional members is Ellen Prandi of Saratoga; sustaining members will be served by Emily Dorr, while Gloria Moore maintains archives as historian and Harriet Zelina serves as parliamentarian. Dorr, Moore and Zelina are all Los Gatans. Dianne Sloan will serve as presidential advisor.
Directing the MSG's social activities is Marian Crowell of San Jose, with Saratogan Pat Albert supervising the Spring Tea. Caroline Clark is in charge of the provisional members' party.
The aim of the Montalvo Service Group is to raise funds for Villa Montalvo, a nonprofit arts organization whose mission is to inspire a love of the arts in everyone through creation, education and presentation. It is also dedicated to maintaining the villa and surrounding grounds.
