    Pop Warner Signups

    The Los Gatos Pop Warner football and cheer program is holding signups for the 2001 season.

    Football openings remain for players on the following teams: Bearcats (7-8 years old, 45-85 pounds; 9 years old, 45-65 pounds); Tigers (8-10 years old, 55-95 pounds; 11 years old, 55-75 pounds); and Wildcats (11-14 years old, 95-145 pounds; 15 years old, 95-125 pounds).

    Cheer openings remain at the Panther level.

    De Anza Force Girls Tryouts

    The De Anza Force will hold tryouts for girls Class 1 and Class 3 soccer teams on Feb. 3, 10 a.m.-noon, and Feb. 4, 1-3 p.m., at Kennedy Middle School in Cupertino.

    Girls must have been born after July 31, 1989, to play in the under-11 division this spring and the under-12 division this fall.

    De Anza Force Boys Tryouts

    The De Anza Force Soccer Club will hold tryouts for boys under-12 Class 1 (select) and Class 3 (comp) soccer teams for the upcoming 2001-2002 season on Feb. 3 and 4 at Kennedy Junior High School in Cupertino. Players must have been born after Aug. 1, 1989.

    Registration for Soccer

    South Bay Youth Soccer will hold registration on Feb. 10, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., at the stadium snack bar at the Campbell Community Center for the following age groups for boys and girls: under-6, under-8, under-10, under-12 and under-14 (ages determined as of July 31, 2001).

    The season runs March through June, and the fee of $65 includes uniforms, a photo package and an end of the season award.

    Pitching clinics

    Pre-season pitching and arm conditioning clinics will be held Wednesdays Jan. 31 through March 14 in the gym at West Valley Community College in Saratoga. Clinics will be held for players ages 9-10 at 6:30 p.m. and for players ages 11-12 at 7:30 p.m.
