Saratogan promoted to Amdahl VP post
David B. Wright has been promoted to the position of executive vice president at Amdahl Corp. in Sunnyvale.
Wright, who had been vice president of Amdahl's Office of Field Operations in charge of worldwide sales and service activities, will be responsible for the company's newly formed Enterprise Computing Group. Included in that organization are Amdahl's mainframe computer and data-storage product businesses, systems support and other operation services, the worldwide field sales organization and a new group that directs sales through distributors and other alternative channels.
Sewing Place teacher publishes new book
Gaye Kriegel, who teaches at the Sewing Place, 18476 Prospect Road, has co-authored a book, Affordable Heirlooms, Creative Sewing with Old and New Linens, with Edna Powers. The book features projects for clothing, accessories, gifts and home decor. The authors worked with local book editors, illustrators and designers and asked friends and family to serve as models.
In addition to the Sewing Place, Kriegel teaches at the Needle's Eye in Campbell.
Copies of the book are on sale for $17.95 at the Sewing Place.
