Board invites public to curriculum hearing
The California State Board of Education is seeking public input at a regional hearing focusing on the California Curriculum Frameworks for kindergarten through 12th grade, with emphasis in mathematics and English/language arts.
The board is holding the hearing in response to the passage of Assembly Bill 265, which calls for development of specific, powerful, academically rigorous content and performance standards to be used in a new statewide evaluation system.
The public is invited to make presentations to the board. They should limit remarks to three minutes and provide a one-page written summary.
The hearing is scheduled for Feb. 1 from 1 to 7 p.m. at the Santa Clara County Office of Education, 100 Skyport Drive, San Jose. To reserve a time as a presenter, contact Susan Choi, 453-6670.
