Valentine Run

The annual Valentine 10K fun run and 5K walk returns to Campbell on Feb. 13, 9 a.m. The event begins at Water Tower Plaza, First Street and Orchard City Drive in downtown Campbell, and costs $15 per entrant. Awards will be presented in the 10K division only. For more information, call 866-2105.

All-Comers Meets

Los Gatos will host a series of all-comers track and field meets on Saturdays, 12:30 p.m., through Feb. 27. Athletes will compete in open, masters men, women's, boys and girls divisions. The cost is $3 for athletes and $2 for spectators. Proceeds go toward track resurfacing at the high school. For more information, call Willie Harmatz at 354-7365.

Adult Sports

Signups for teams and individuals interested in playing in the San Jose adult volleyball and basketball leagues are now being accepted.

Registration begins Feb. 15 for the adult basketball season. The cost is $340 per team for the six-game season.

Volleyball league play begins Feb. 22 in the gym at the Camden Lifetime Activities Center. The cost is $235 per team, and the registration deadline is Feb. 19.

Pitching Clinic

Former local fast-pitch superstar Whitney Floyd will host lessons and clinics for girls softball pitchers. Floyd starred locally at Lynbrook High School and went on to All-American status at UC-Berkeley. She is now on the coaching staff at Santa Clara University. For more information, call 554-5063.

Youth Baseball

The deadline for youngsters interested in playing spring and summer baseball is rapidly approaching. For information on local leagues:

Saratoga Little League, open to players ages 5-12, call the league hotline at 236-2678;

Quito Little League, open to boys and girls ages 5-12 (as of July 31, 1999), call the Quito hotline at 943-4707 or visit the league's website at www.quitoll.org;

Saratoga Pony-Colt baseball league, open to players ages 13-14, call Bruce Behnke at 867-5170.
