Saratoga NewsSheriff's office cites salon employee for solicitationBy Michelle Alaimo Sheriff's deputies arrested a 32-year-old employee of a Saratoga skin and body salon on charges of solicitation. According to department officials, the arrest took place Jan. 6 at 3:20 p.m. at Professionals Skin and Body Salon on Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road, on the Saratoga side of the Saratoga/Cupertino border. According to Sgt. Jim Arata, the salon employee, identified as Irina Zezenkova, solicited an undercover officer. The Sheriff's Department acted on a tip about suspicious activity at the business after receiving complaints from city officials and residents, Arata said. Two other female employees and a client were in the salon at the time, but Arata said no other violations were found. City Manager Larry Perlin said the salon's business license and establishment permit were both pulled by deputies at the time of the arrest. The establishment was closed from Jan. 9 to Jan. 19. But Paula Reeve, administrative analyst in the city manager's office, said that after a review of the incident by the city, the license and permit were reinstated. The incident was found to be isolated, and Zezenkova's massage certificate was revoked. She is not allowed to practice anywhere in the city, Reeve said. Zezenkova was cited and released and is scheduled to appear in San Jose Municipal Court on Feb. 9. The incident comes less than a year after employee Quaypom Carter was arrested on the same charges at Relaxation Time Salon, also located on Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road.
