Butter Paddle scores with San Jose Sharks
The Butter Paddle, a home accessories and gift store in Saratoga, was one of the businesses selected to furnish items for gift baskets being presented to the National Hockey League franchise owners and guests attending the All-Star game and festivities at the San Jose Arena Jan. 18.
Colleen McCarthy, chief of staff to George Gund, chairman and owner of the San Jose Sharks, wanted gift, wine and gourmet food products made in Santa Clara County to fill the gift baskets. After talking with Beth Berger and Mimi Landthorn, food buyers for The Butter Paddle, McCarthy chose a tapenade and wine pasta from Bette and John Mermis' Saveur Specialty Foods of Saratoga.
The volunteer-operated Butter Paddle benefits the Eastfield-Ming Quong children's home.
