Exchange program accepting students
Saratoga and its sister city in Japan--Muko-Shi, near Kyoto--will run the Saratoga Sister City Student Exchange Program from July 26 through August 16. This is the program's 16th year.
Four Saratoga students will be selected, on the basis of academics, achievements and interests, to visit Muko-Shi and stay at the homes of four Muko-Shi students from July 26 through August 6. Then, they will bring back to Saratoga Muko-Shi students, who will stay with the Saratoga students until August 16.
The program includes information on Japanese culture, language and cuisine. The Saratoga students are not required to speak Japanese, but the Muko-Shi students will be able to speak some conversational English. Applications are due on May 1, 2001. Call Lillian Morgan at 408.867.2661.
