Dick Wotiz watches tow trucks remove the Green Valley Disposal truck that crashed into his front yard on Sullivan Way at 6 a.m. on Jan. 29. The accident occurred when the driver, Joseph Garcia, 56, switched from driving on the left side of the truck to driving on the right side. He forgot to release the safety plate on the right-hand-side brake and lost control of the truck. The truck uprooted trees and bushes in three front yards, hit a mailbox, knocked off the top of a fire hydrant and broke a storm drain pipe. Garcia, who suffered a cut elbow, bruised ribs and knees and neck pain, was treated and released from the hospital that day. The crash 'felt more like an earthquake than anything else,' Wotiz said, adding that Green Valley employees took at least two to three hours to clean up the mess.
