Sheriff's Report
Grand Theft--Jan. 29, 4:15 p.m. on Beauchamps Lane. The reporting party was unable to find property that disappeared between Dec. 8 and Dec. 13, so he notified the sheriff's office. The property included a $2,000 double-line pearl necklace and an $800 diamond ring.
Grand Theft--Jan. 28, 5:30 p.m. on Evans Court. Before the victim left on a trip with his family on Jan. 26 at 2:30 p.m., he packed his $2,400 laptop in the back of his car. When he returned two days later at 3 p.m., he saw that the laptop was no longer there. None of the parties he checked with said they moved it.
Assault and Battery/Hate Crime--Jan. 28, 3:32 p.m. on Saratoga Avenue. When the victim was working as a clerk at a gas station, the suspect entered the cashier area and asked for $10 of gas, even though he had no money. When the victim said no, the suspect said "f___ you," told him to go back to his country and called him a "camel jockey." The suspect went around the counter, grabbed the victim and tried to punch him in the face. As the victim and suspect struggled, they knocked over items. The victim suffered a kick and a scratch. When the sheriff's office contacted the suspect, he admitted the incident and claimed he was attacked.
Driving With Possession of Less than One Ounce of Marijuana--Jan. 27, 1:30 a.m. on Prospect Road. When the officer stopped a suspicious vehicle that was driving out of a parking lot, the officer noticed that the driver had dilated pupils. The officer asked the driver to exit the car. Upon the driver's exit, the officer smelled marijuana. When the officer asked the driver to hand over any marijuana she had, the driver complied. The officer also recovered two glass pipes and a bong, cited the subject and released her to her older brothers.
