ENGAGEMENTS

Dobson, Abbott
and Maddex, Abbott

Brothers Michael Robert Abbott and Ryan Charles Abbott, sons of Bob and Sheryl Abbott, are both engaged to be married.

Both brothers are graduates of Lynbrook High School, Michael in 1990 and Ryan in 1992.

Ryan is scheduled to receive his bachelor's degree in mechanical and materials science engineering from UC-Berkeley in May 1996. He plans to wed Tracy Sue Dobson on July 27, 1996 at La Jolla Presbyterian Church in San Diego.

His fiancée, daughter of Dr. Jack and Pat Dobson of San Diego, is a graduate of Mission Bay High School in San Diego and will graduate from UC-Berkeley in May with a degree in civil engineering.

Michael graduated from Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo with a bachelor's degree in biochemistry and is attending graduate school at the University of Washington. He is working on a Ph.D. in pharmacology. He is engaged to Rebecca Jane Maddex, and they plan to be married at Saratoga Presbyterian Church in March 1977.

Maddex is the daughter of Jill and Ken Maddex, originally from England, who now live in Milpitas. She graduated from Piedmont Hills High School in 1990 and earned her degree in environmental engineering at Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo in June 1995. She works as an environmental engineer at Hewlett-Packard.

McMan, Dennis

Susan Lynne McMan and Jason Alan Dennis have announced plans to be married.

Jason is the son of Steve and Sona Dennis of Saratoga. A Lynbrook High School graduate, he graduated from Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo, where he studied economics and premedical studies and works as a regional sales manager for Get Travel Inc. in Walnut Creek.

Susan, daughter of William and Virginia McMan of San Marino, graduated from San Marino High School and UC-Santa Barbara, earning bachelor's and master's degrees in education. She is a sixth-grade teacher for the Manhattan Beach School District.

They plan to be married June 29 in San Marino, Calif., and honeymoon in Kenya, after which they will live in Discovery Bay.
