Gordon Ralph Smith
Gordon Ralph Smith, 79, died of cancer Jan. 25 in Saratoga.
Born in Stoughton, Saskatchewan, Smith was a Saratoga resident since 1955. He was a carpenter and a member of Carpenter's Local #405 and Freemason's Lodge #292. He enjoyed golf, bowling and fixing cars for members of his family.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Smith of Saratoga; his children, daughter Sandra Santos and son-in-law Manuel Santos, son Steve Smith and daughter-in-law Dianne Day, and daughter Linda Pyers and son-in-law Terry Pyers, all of San Jose; his siblings, Harvey Smith, Wes Smith and Peggy Smith, all residents of British Columbia; and nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Memorial services were held Jan. 29 at the Alameda Family's Saratoga-Cupertino Funeral Home in Saratoga.
