Contemporary Conflict
City Council members on Feb. 2 directed Bill Liu, who wants to build this 6,500-square-foot contemporary home in the hillsides on Masson Court, to revise his plans. Although the plans were approved by the Planning Commission, three neighbors appealed the decision to the council. The neighbors said they had concerns about the structure's height, compatibility with the neighborhood, the copper roof and how close to the street the home would be. The plans include a copper roof, a dark wood exterior and limestone and metal details. In the meantime, council members encouraged Liu and his neighbors to work their problems out.
