Thelma Hales

Saratoga resident Thelma K. Hales died Jan. 3 at Our Lady of Fatima Villa in Saratoga. She was 93.

She was born Feb. 24, 1904, in Pennsylvania and was a homemaker.

Hales was preceded in death by her husband, Malvern M. Hales of Havertown, Pa. Survivors include stepson and daughter-in-law Robert E. and Joan Hales of Saratoga and stepson Richard A. Hales of Pennsylvania; grandchildren Robert E. Hales Jr., Lynn Anne Heil and Jan Marie Hales; great-grandchildren Briana, Robby, Kasey, Carson, Christopher and Haley.

Memorial services have been held.

John Satterstrom

John A. Satterstrom, a longtime resident of Saratoga, died Jan. 7 in Encinitas, where he had been residing. He was 84.

He was born Nov. 26, 1913, in Minnesota and was a self-employed service-station owner.

Survivors include son and daughter-in-law Lane and Carol Satterstrom of Encinitas, grandchildren Kate and Tim Satterstrom and sister Hazel Ahlstrand.

Memorial services have been held, with interment at Los Gatos Memorial Park. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
