Fifth-graders (left to right) Allen Liu, Andrew Capek and Matt Fazio learn how to sew pillows at an instructional booth on Colonial Day at Foothill Elementary School. Each year, fifth-grade classes host Colonial Day as part of their U.S. History studies. Students wore colonial outfits and demonstrated other tasks of the era, such as braiding rugs and pounding horseshoes. Later, students staged a debate on whether to go to war with Great Britain.
