Photo: Odd Fellows Home expected to be completed in August
Phase one of construction at the Saratoga Retirement Community, formerly called the Odd Fellows Home, is halfway completed. The new construction consists of the California Villas--which are residential facilities, assisted-living facilities and a special care unit for dementia--as well as a 94-bed skilled nursing facility. The new facility will accommodate 43 more people than the original, and is expected to be completed in August. Saratoga residents will have first choice after current residents of the home are placed. 'That way, we meet the needs of the community,' said Executive Director Gary Vernon. Vernon said he hopes to start the second phase of construction--apartment buildings and duplexes for independent-style living--next year.
