Redwood School renovation plans for public review

The Saratoga Union School District has given notice that it intends to adopt a negative declaration for the proposed renovation project at Redwood Middle School.

A negative declaration means the school district does not believe a major environmental review is needed.

The negative declaration, its accompanying initial environmental study and environmental impact checklist form are available for public review at the SUSD District Office, 20460 Forrest Hills Drive until March 5.

Copies are also available for review at Saratoga City Hall, Saratoga Community Library, Redwood Middle School and at Mail Boxes Etc. in the Village, where copies can be made.

Comments on any or all of the documents and the intent of the district's negative declaration are welcome, and can be made in writing to the Saratoga Union School District, 20460 Forrest Hills Drive, Saratoga, Calif., 95070. Comments should be addressed to Mary Gardner, Superintendent, by March 5.

For more information, call 867-3424 ext. 502.

    Chamber mixer going cellular

The Saratoga Chamber of Commerce has announced its next After-Hours Business Mixer, to be held Feb. 18 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Cellular One Store at El Paseo De Saratoga Shopping Center.

At the mixer, Cellular One manager Dan Vasquez will give a demonstration of all the latest cellular gear.

Chamber mixers are an informal way to get to know local business people, and serve as a good networking tool. A $3 donation is also requested. Call Mary Jeanne Fenn at 867-0564, or Grace Green at 996-9400.

    City needs volunteers

The City of Saratoga is looking for computer technical assistant volunteers to help with some of the city's various computing needs.

Volunteers will assist the city's technology coordinator with various tasks in City Hall, depending on experience level. Knowledge of personal computers and Microsoft Office products would be helpful.

For more information call Lori Burns, city volunteer coordinator, at 868-1252.
