SHS musicians play in state honor band
Six Saratoga High School students were named to the California All-State Honor Band, and one was named to the All-State Orchestra.
Frank Wyant, instrumental music director at Saratoga High School, said it is a significant achievement to be selected for all-state honors. "They audition people from all over the state," he said.
The students who were named to the Honor Band are Laura Wallis, Angela Tseng, Eric Yoo, Helen Choe, Audrey Chang and Susan Song.
Wallis was also chosen for the orchestra. She will play her oboe with the orchestra at a Feb. 24 performance at the Flint Center in Cupertino. Admission is free. The performance starts at 4 p.m.
