Next Chamber mixer date set

Franco Vado, owner of Saratoga TV, located at 18802 Cox Ave., will host this month's Saratoga Chamber of Commerce after business-hours mixer on Thursday, Feb. 26, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Chamber members are encouraged to bring their fliers, brochures and business cards for an evening of networking. Chamber mixers are designed to give local business owners the opportunity to meet and discuss ways of furthering their own and Saratoga's business community.

A $3 donation is requested.

County committee to hold hearings

The Santa Clara County Committee on School District Organization will conduct two hearings to obtain public response to a petition to transfer territory from Campbell school districts to the Los Gatos-Saratoga Joint Union High and Saratoga Union school districts. The petition has been signed by more than 25 percent of the registered voters in the territory. The meetings are scheduled to be held on Wednesday, Feb. 25, at Marshall Lane School, located at 14114 Marilyn Lane, in Saratoga, at 5:30 p.m., and at Argonaut School, located at 13200 Shadow Mountain Drive, in Saratoga, at 7:45 p.m.

The territory proposed for transfer includes about 55 acres of land and 35 homes in Saratoga, roughly bounded by Allendale Avenue, Chester Avenue and the existing boundary between Campbell and Los Gatos-Saratoga Joint Union high school districts.

Stove Changeout almost at an end

There are only three days left to participate in the Great Stove Changeout, co-sponsored by the Bay Area Air Quality Management Board and 28 other air districts and the Northern California Hearth Products Association.

The changeout offers residents the chance to turn in wood stoves and receive a rebate on a cleaner-burning appliance.

The program ends Feb. 28.
