The library offers Internet instruction

A presentation for parents on how to take advantage of the Internet will be held at the Saratoga Community Library, 13650 Saratoga Ave., on Saturday, March 8, at 9:15 a.m. The children's librarians will offer tips on using the Internet with children, including some suggested Web sites to visit.

To sign up in advance or for more information, call the library at 867-6127 during operating hours.

Sacred Heart holds fashion show and tea

The Sacred Heart Women's Club will hold an afternoon tea, featuring a festival of decorated tables and informal modeling Friday, March 14, from 1 to 3 p.m. The tea costs $6.

Outfits from Jessica McClintock and The Yum Yum Tree will be modeled. Tickets may be purchased at the door. Call 288-5986 for information.

Passover Haggadah is Beth David topic

The Haggadah, both a how-to book for the Passover Seder and a narration of the Jewish exodus from Egypt, will be the topic of a Sisterhood Lecture March 20 at 7:30 p.m. sponsored by Saratoga's Congregation Beth David, 19700 Prospect Road.

A slide show, developed by the Judah L. Magnes Museum in Berkeley, will be shown by docent Herb Abrams, who with his wife, Irene, collects different styles of Haggadot.

Three plays slated at West Valley College

West Valley College will offer three theater productions during months to come: the Neil Simon comedy Rumors on March 14-23; Theater Road Show, a drama written by a West Valley student, on April 17-19; and Love & Sex, an evening of comedy and music, on May 16-22.

Theater Road Show, written by Laurie Wheeler, explores social issues facing today's young people. The play is about the personal demons that haunt eight troubled high school students attending a therapy group. Following the campus presentation, the play will be available for tour to local high schools.

The plays will be presented in the West Valley College Theater, 14000 Fruitvale Ave. Reservations can be made by calling the college box office at 741-2058.

Rebekah Lodge installs officers

Saratoga Rebekah Lodge #337 recently installed new officers: Denise Concepcion was seated as noble grand; Therese Hornig as vice grand; Doris Ott, secretary; Hannah Quain, treasurer; and Ceceile Springer, secretary.

The lodge is a fraternal organization whose members enjoy helping the community. There are openings for new members. Call 868-0342.
