    Art Association seeks show entrants

The Los Gatos Art Association invites all interested artists to submit works for its annual Open Juried Art Show, an annual event co-sponsored by the LGAA and the Los Gatos Museum Association. Artists do not need to belong to either association to participate in the competition, nor do they need to be Los Gatos residents. The winners will appear in a show opening May 4 at the Los Gatos Museum of Fine Art and Natural History, at 4 Tait Ave.

This year's categories are oil and acrylic, pastel and pencil, water media, photography, three-dimensional art and other media/mixed media. Artists may submit up to three pieces although no more than two works from the same artist will be chosen for the jurying process.

All entries must be original works created within the last three years. Works previously chosen for a juried show at the museum are not eligible. Due to the museum's physical restrictions, art for wall display cannot exceed 40 inches by 40 inches. Three-dimensional art cannot be heavier than 75 pounds or larger than 3 feet by 3 feet.

The first-place prize in each category with 20 or more entries is $100, with $50 and $25 for second- and third-place winners. Categories with fewer than 20 entries will be given fewer monetary awards, while categories with fewer than five entries may be combined with other categories. Artists who price their works for sale will be subject to a 30 percent commission on all works sold.

Entries submitted by April 21 are $10 per entry for non-LGAA members and $9 for members. After April 21 fees will be $14 and $13. To obtain an entry form, or for more information, call Ella Fisher at 408.353.3238, Maralyn Miller at 408.354.6747 or Rita Wilson at 408.395.1301.
