Saratoga NewsSheriff's ReportVehicle Burglary--Feb. 28, 8:18 a.m., on Vanderbilt Drive. An unknown suspect smashed the driver's side window of a car in a residence driveway. The suspect then opened the door and took objects from the car, including two stereo speakers valued at $200 each. Grand Theft--Feb. 28, 10:45 a.m., on Three Oaks Court. The victim left town for several days and returned to find everything seemingly normal. Later, the victim discovered jewelry, valued at $10,000, was missing. A baby sitter reported having held a study group in the home with some individuals she did not know personally. Petty Theft--March 2, between 2 and 3:30 p.m., at Saratoga High School. The victim reported that her wallet was stolen from her backpack while it was left on a locker room bench. She discovered the theft the next day and informed her bank. The bank responded that a purchase of $120 had been made with the ATM card that was in the wallet. The unknown suspects are still at large. Residential Burglary--March 3, 6:10 p.m., on Debbie Lane. Deputies reported that while the victim was away from home, a neighbor witnessed two suspects force open the garage door of the residence, then re-emerge a while later. There were no items taken from the residence, probably because there is no entrance from the garage to the house, the deputies' report stated. The suspects are still at large.
