Brian Carroll, Devin Joplin and Laura Prolo looked pretty good.
But Jill Moon went the three one better when the Saratoga track and field team battled Fremont last week.
Carroll, Joplin and Prolo were each double winners to help the Falcons to wins in both boys' and girls' varsity competition. And Moon? She was a triple winner.
Moon claimed victories in the 300 hurdles, long jump and triple jump to lead the Saratoga girls to an 86-41 win over Fremont in the first meet of the year in the El Camino Division of the Santa Clara Valley Athletic League.
Moon soared 15-4 in the long jump and 33-1 in the triple jump to win two field events, and she added a first in the 300 low hurdles, with teammate Yasemin Denari third.
Joplin supported with wins in the 100 in 12.7 and 200 in 29.4, and Prolo took the 100 hurdles in 18.4 and the high jump at 4-4. They also teamed with Camille Behnke and Taylor Teerlink for a win in the 400 relay in 55.1.
Moon added a second in the 100 hurdles in 18.8, with Teerlink third in 19.2, and Behnke was second in the 100 in 13.3. Jennifer Chan picked up a second in the 200 in 29.5, with Alice Teng third in 29.9.
Leah Blackwell was tops in the 400 meters in 68.5, with Stephanie Szeto third in 69.7, and the two teamed with Jenny Yoo and Ivane Chou for a win in the 1600 meter relay in 4:45.9.
Whittner Dotzler came through with a victory in the 3200 meters in 12:58, with Joan Cheng third in 14:22. Yoo was second in the 800 in 2:49, with Bonnie Nguyen third in 2:56, and Miranda Sun was third in the 1600 in 6:44.
Moon led the Saratoga effort on the track with her two wins. She was tops in the long jump, with Teerlink third at 14-2, and she was first in the triple jump with Prolo third in 30-7.
Janny Huang heaved the shot put 26-1 for a Saratoga win, with Jill Brady third at 24-7. Angela Chua was second in the discus at 69-7, with Nikki Geranios third at 66-0.
Carroll, meanwhile, led the Saratoga boys to a lopsided 93-34 win over Fremont. The senior speedster took the 110-meter high hurldes in 16.1, and was first in the 300 intermediate hurdles in 41.7, with Chad Allen second in 42.6.
Brent Colman was a winner in the 100 meters in 11.6 with Sean Hanley second in 12.2, and Steve Teng third in 12.2, and Dan Miner took the 200 meters in 23.9, with Teng second in 25.1.
Alex Lux was first in the 400 meters in 52.4, with Alex Ling second in 56.4 and Tristan Hoare third in 57.7, and Nima Nafei took the 800 meters in 2:10, with Dave Wilson second in 2:15 and Matt Shoor third in 2:16.
Lux, Ling, Nafei and Hoare teamed for a victory in the 1600-meter relay in 3:47.1.
Alex Daniels came through with a win in the 3200 meters in 10:42, with Drew Copeland second in 10:50, and Copeland was also second in the 1600 in 4:55 with Daniels third in 4:57.
Out in the field, Chad Allen flew 20-3 to win the high jump, with Lux second at 19-734, and Teng third at 18-0, and Mark Marshall pitched the discus 113-7 for a first, with Erik Johnstone second at 100-3 and Daryl DeKeczer third at 96-8.
DeKeczer added a second in the shot put at 35-912 with Jack Huang third at 35-634. Todd Anderson was second in the high jump at 5-6 and Tony Hsu was second in the triple jump at 37-5.
In frosh-soph action the same day, Saratoga whipped Fremont 86-41.
Alex Shoor was first in the 800 in 2:14 and the 1600 in 4:54.9; Nobuaki Tomine won the 3200 in 11:51; Eric Shan took the 400 in 57.7; Jeff Verson was a winner in both the 65 high hurdles in 10.5 and the 300 intermediates in 49.5; Eric Bickenbach flew to wins in the triple jump at 33-8 and the long jump at 5-0; Adam Weiskal took the shot put at 34-034; and James Jacobson won the discus at 86-4.
