Photographer gives slide program at camera club
The Los Gatos-Saratoga Camera Club welcomes photograph Peggy Patterson on March 19, for a slide program detailing her travels in Nepal and Tibet. The event begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Youth Center of the Presbyterian Church of Los Gatos, 16575 Shannon Road at the corner of Cherry Blossom Lane. Annual scholarship seeks applications
The Ed Gomersall Cultural Scholarship, sponsored by the Saratoga Sister City Association, is available to a man or woman of any age who is interested in pursuing knowledge of any aspect of Japanese culture through participation in programs or classes, or as part of a personal study program.
The scholarship is given annually, in memory of Ed Gomersall, a past president of the Saratoga Sister City Association. Applicants must write a personal essay and present a plan of study, or explanation of their educational and cultural goals.

Villa Montalvo to fill with songs of the Gypsy life
Violinist Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg and guitarists Sergio and Odair Assad, who are touring to promote a new album, will bring their own brand of Gypsy music, along with other genre, to the Villa Montalvo Carriage House Theater on March 18, starting at 7:30 p.m. The program includes The Pretty Girl, If I Could Catch a Mouse, Curd-Porridge, Young Bride, Fantasia on Dark Eyes, Andalucia and medleys of various Romanian folk dances and Argentinian tangos.
